WHY IS PAUL THE “WORK SMARTS” COACH?

Are you a “hammer” or a “Swiss Army knife”?

As almost all successful people have learned — (sometimes the hard way ), being effective at work and enjoying a successful career depends on knowing “how to use what you know”.

As the “Work Smarts Coach”, Paul believes that it’s your attitude, your knowledge and your interactions with others that will set you apart as as an extraordinary employee or manager.

Today’s successful professionals know that to get ahead, get noticed and get promoted you need to think, be skilled and perform like a “Swiss Army knife”…. and not a “hammer”. The Swiss Army knife has many uses; it’s multi-functional, adaptable and dependable. On the other hand a hammer is useful for one job!

HOW CAN YOU DEVELOP YOUR WORK SMARTS?

WORK CLEVER
Being clever means knowing what business skills you need to get ahead at work and then knowing the most efficient way to use these skills. Being clever means accomplishing something important or overcoming something others see as difficult.

THINK KAIZEN
Kaizen is Japanse for “continuous and never ending improvement.” Applying Kaizen means always looking for small ways to improve things.

APPLY THE 80/20 RULE
For many events at work and in life, roughly 20% of your key efforts will produce 80% of your results. Using your worksmarts means you know the difference between the critial few tasks versus the trivial many that produce your results.

DEVELOP YOUR SMARTS
Work Smarts include skills such as emotional intelligence skills as well as the specific skills you’ll need to get ahead in this competitive business environment.
